Corrupted database

To start off this post, we would like to thank you for your patience while the server has been closed. It has been just over two weeks and it is time we tell you what went wrong, why and what our next steps are.
During the most recent maintenance, our database backups became corrupted. This means that we have lost all player data from May 2023 up until now. We did our best to recover this data, but unfortunately our efforts brought us nowhere closer and we have to accept that there is nothing we can do about it.
This means that everything you as a player have done and earned on our server since May 2023 ‘never happened’ because we have lost this data.
What exactly does this 'player data' include?
- - Coins earned
- - Ride counts
- - Items you have bought
- - Achievements you have achieved
Very simply put, have you not visited the server before May 2023? Then you are basically a ‘new’ player/visitor in our database.
We fully understand that this is very disappointing news for many of you. For us as well. We have kept quiet over the past weeks so that we could look for solutions, but we also want to be honest with you and admit that something went wrong.
At this point, we cannot do more than apologise. We are very sorry to have to deliver this bad news and unfortunately we have to accept this defeat. Sadly, we cannot see how many coins everyone had, which items you had bought and how many times you have been in a particular ride. The solution would have been easy if that was the case. We are very sorry to have to bring this bad news and understand the disappointment you will probably have. Once again, we apologise for this.
If you bought VIP, you do not have to worry about your rank. We will of course return it to you, as this information is also stored on external platforms.
We know that some of you have worked hard to be at the top of the ride counts, get all the achievements or buy the items you have been saving up for for a long time. Because of that, we are currently developing appropriate compensations. We greatly appreciate you, our World of Wonders community, and want to solve this setback in the right way for you. We will provide more information on this soon and we hope you can give us the time to do so.
When we will reopen the server is still unclear. We are using this setback to make several changes that have been planned for a while (including, for example, updating to 1.21). Of course we will keep you updated if there are any changes and as soon as we have the proper compensation for the loss, we will let you know as well.
