Interview with Bananenvla
Interview
“My first large project was the hotel in the Disney server. It was a huge job to even think how many rooms should be included in the build, which themes would be suitable for the themed suites and how the other rooms should be arranged. The new hotel would replace the old hotel, so it also had to be the same size to be able to place it into the park. It took me over two months from the start of planning to filling the last rooms in the side wings. That took a lot of perseverance, but I'm very happy with the result.”
Joost first came into contact with Minecraft in 2011 thanks to a friend who was playing the alpha version at the time. As of 2012, he bought his own Minecraft account called 'joostiboy123'. “I can remember well that the first things I built were a number of houses, for example a modern house made of snow and an apartment made of bricks.” Joost says with a laugh.
8 years later Joost has joined World of Wonders. He, like much of the team, comes from DroomCraft. “After DroomCraft stopped, I noticed some of the team members took off with the new map. I had put a lot of time in that world so I decided to go after it. That's how I got into the team.”
From that moment on, Joost has not been sitting still. A very large part of the Disney server has been overhauled. In addition to the hotel, he has also renovated the main street, the inside of the castle and the fantasy area. The team now also knows Joost as a super fast builder. How did he get that perseverance? “I've always wanted to finish a big project. While building the hotel in Disney, I needed a lot of perseverance.” reveals Joost.
“I am now busy finishing the Efteling server.” Joost switched after the Christmas event to build the Efteling. Together with the other builders, he built almost the entire park within six months. “After the Efteling is completely finished, I will continue working on the Disney server. The Goldport Mesa Express still needs some adjustments and the fantasy area is also waiting to be completed. I'm really looking forward to that now.”
